All applicants for 8(a) a Certification must submit a Narrative Statement of Economic Disadvantage that properly describes their personal experiences stemming from prejudice or bias that they have experienced in their lifetime.

If you want to apply for your 8a Certification but are not a Black American, Hispanic American, Native American or Asian American, you must submit a Narrative Statement of Social Disadvantage that properly describes, in detail, your personal experiences stemming from systemic discrimination.
